The focus for the new Op identity is to convey the vigorous character of the long standing clothing company and its history in the surf and beach culture. A full brand audit was used as strategy to reposition OP to compete with name brand retailers such as RVCA and Billabong. I spent Summer afternoons at surf spots like Neptune’s Net and Venice Beach interviewing surfers long before starting on sketching or design directions.
